Has campaigning for public office changed over millennia? Clearly not as demonstrated in our look at "How to Win an Election: An Ancient Guide for Modern Politicians", a neat little work translated and curated by Philip Freeman based on the 'public relations' advice Quintus Tullius Cicero gave to his older brother, the great gadfly of the later Roman Republic, Marcus Tullius Cicero, as he started his electoral campaign for the highest office in the Republic, Consul.

History Guy has a nice vid on Marcus Cicero at    • The Life and Death of Cicero  , Historia Civilis has some context at    • Cicero's Finest Hour (44 to 43 B.C.E.)   and, to complement my video, here is a take on the Ciceros from Thersites the Historian    • Quintus Tullius Cicero, Praetor 62 B....

Since we featured lots of U.S. election images in this video, probably a good chance to brush up on how their election system works. Crash Course have a guide at    • Election Basics: Crash Course Governm...   . In contrast, an interesting guide from Global News on how the largest democracy on Earth, India, runs its election system    • India Lok Sabha election: How the wor...   and then from CNC, how German runs theirs    • How do German elections work? | CNBC ...
