Molto spesso la parte finale della progressione armonica di uno slow blues è la stessa di molti jazz blues e presenta il "turn around", ovvero il giro armonico completo: I VI II V.
In questo esempio il turn around è formato da 4 accordi di dominante, per la precisione, in questa caso in G:
G7 - E7(#9) - A7 - D7(#5).
Un'altra variazione comune sia allo slow blues che al jazz blues è l'accordo diminuito a battuta 6 per tornare dal IV al I.
