Easy fix / Workaround for issue where the cursor or mouse on the screen is moving by itself, jumping around without you touching it on Lenovo or Dell Laptops
I’ve personally seen this mouse cursor issue on quite a few laptops, including Dell Inspiron, Latitude and Lenovo Thinkpad laptops. Mostly on models which include a trackpoint.
On this tutorial, I’m going to show you how I fixed this issue on the Lenovo Thinkpad series laptop, specifically on the E490 model. The issue can be very intermittent and when this happens the touchpad stop working or it’s very slow in response
As I mentioned above, most of the time the issue is created by the TrackPoint on the laptop, which is the little red thing in the middle of the keyboard. I’m personally not using it, as I’ve never been a fan of it. The quickest solution is to disable it.
For this, on the control panel, go to mouse settings, then under Synaptics Track Point you tab on Settings, and that will give you the option to bring down the sensitivity or disable the trackpoint completely, just disable it and give it a try.
Hope you can also fix this Erratic mouse behavior on your laptop
