NC State University High Performance Computing Service
Eric Sills, PhD
Assistant Vice Chancellor for OIT Shared Services
Office of Information Technology
Overview of NC State's HPC Service, including the compute hardware, storage, software, and staff support for the Henry2 Linux Cluster.
The HPC Service is available to all NC State faculty, student, or staff, free of charge.
The HPC service's funding model relies on the Partner Program, where researchers purchase additional hardware (nodes) for use by their project in a dedicated queue. Newer nodes not actively being used by the partner are made available to other projects for short duration jobs, and as nodes age out, they are put into general circulation for all users with any length of jobs.
