The interior angles of a polygon sum to (n-2) * 180 degrees.
So odd sided polygons have interior angle sums which are multiples of 180, causing it to flip after one trip around, and even sided polygons have interior angle sums that are multiples of 360 which means it will be right side up after a trip around.
