Staten Island soccer dad curses, gets suspended by league
A video of a tense moment taken on the sidelines of a Staten Island 12-year-old girls’ soccer game has led to a parent’s suspension from all team-related activities by the league this season. The video, posted on YouTube and shared on social media, shows the visibly upset parent using obscenities as he paces in front of parents and players of the opposing New Jersey team last week at Owl Hollow field in Arden Heights. After an investigation by the league, the New Jersey-based Cedar Stars Soccer Academy acted swiftly in punishing the man, whose daughter plays for the 2007 Cedar Academy Stars team.
