Motorists band together to rescue a dog seen running across the Staten Island Expressway
This video was shot on the dashcam of Staten Island resident Katie Marie, who had just left work. In getting on the westbound Staten Island Expressway at the Hylan Blvd. exit, Marie encountered traffic and attempted to evade it.
However, that’s when she spotted a little Chihuahua scampering on the roadway with fellow Staten Islanders in pursuit. “When I saw that dog, my instincts just kicked in and the only thing on my mind was to make sure that dog got to safety,” Marie said. (Courtesy/Katie Marie)
