Jenn's Mac & Cheese
1 lb hot sausage
1 green bell pepper
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 cup all purpose flour
4 cups whole milk
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp ground mustard
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
2 cups shredded cheese blend
16 oz cooked elbow pasta
1 cup italian bread crumbs
1/4 cup shredded cheese blend
4 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed
Prepare and bake at 350 F for 15-20 minutes, place under low broiler for a couple minutes for extra crispy topping.
If you refrigerate or freeze, make sure you allow for enough time for the dish to warm up a bit before placing in the oven. I recommend defrosting if frozen. Bake for 30-45 minutes at 350, until warmed thru and golden on top.
