The California Health Medical Reserve Corps is a federally-authorized medical reserve corps and a 501c3 nonprofit. Serving as an umbrella to support other medical reserve corps in public health, they not only respond to disasters and emergencies but also foster preparedness to build more resilient communities. Their mission is to serve vulnerable populations in L.A. County. With over 2.5 million members, one out of every four people living in L.A. County has joined. The mission has not changed since the pandemic. Instead, it has been more complicated to get people access to vaccinations and care.
“…we believe in partnerships across all areas of healthcare. You can't as a health plan do it by yourself.” – James Kyle
