Bellwether Industries has been developing the design of its flying vehicle for several years and is on track to bring it to market by 2028.
The company has already conducted several initial flight tests. The Volar was remotely controlled and traveled at not very high speed. The flight itself was also not very stable, but nevertheless, the eVTOL performed quite well, and it is hoped that it will perform better in future tests.
According to the manufacturer's assurances, the car should travel at speeds of up to 135 mph. (217 km/h). The running time of the built-in battery should be up to 90 minutes.
In addition to the technical challenges faced by the Bellwether Industries team, there are also legal issues. For the Volar to be launched, a flight certificate will have to be obtained.
