Major scales give you superpowers.
Music students everywhere are asked to play scales but it's not always explained why. They don't need to be a massive focus of your practice sessions but they do have so many benefits, even if you just learn a few. But the more you know, the more they actually start to give you what feels like musical superpowers. I'm not even exaggerating. I truly believe learning major scales is the single project that made the biggest difference to abilities as a musician.
