All the notations and vocabulary related to rhythms can be a bit overwhelming, but don't feel like you need to learn it all at once. Think of it like a game, that also has expansions. The base game is pretty simple and you can do a lot with it, but eventually you'll be ready for more complexity, like subdivisions or new kinds of time signatures. Tackle these concepts bit by bit to make the more manageable.
