Yoooo, what’s up homies, ¡bienvenidos! This is your daily edition of the Getting Street Smart in Mexican Spanish.
Today we’re gonna talk about what an “Aventón” is (a gif of someone getting pushed appears on-screen) Well, ok, yeah technically aventón means to be pushed. But when in Mexico, asking a friend for an aventón means you’re asking for a ride or a lift to some place. And actually in Northern Mexico, we use kinda like a Spanglish version of “ride”, we say ‘me das un un raite’?’
So there you have it, when in need of a ride home in Mexico or asking your Mexican amigos, you gotta say ¿Me das un aventón? Or ¿Me das un raite?
That’s all for today my homies, you’re now a little bit more Street Smart in Mexican Spanish. We’re gonna have a new video every day so don’t forget to come back tomorrow, and keep getting Street Smart with a daily Memrise lesson. ¡Ahí nos vemos!
