Simply put CHIDO means something good, impressive, high quality or something cool.
CHAFA means something bad, lame, low quality or something wack.
Examples. Your friend treats you to Taco night takeaway. Chido!
You open the bag and they forgot to send salsa. Chafa!
You just bought a new mobile phone on a deal. Chido!
The end of the charger breaks in less than a week. Chafa!
After a year and a half you finally book a beach holiday. Chido!
You get there and it’s raining the whole time. Chafa!
