Splootch, one of the many from Orange Clan in Paleochora (long version)
Longer video of the short (day 14 of the catvent calendar). I'm going to keep the description the same for ease:
Filmed on the 18th of November, 2023 in Paleochora*, island of Crete, Greece
We were staying in Paleochora for 13 days and met many sweet cats in this town. On the fourteenth day of my Cat Advent Calendar 2023, let me introduce you to Splootch. He was one of our main visitors and a total sweetheart. He was not into laps, unlike the other orange cats that came by. He's a bit smaller and skinnier than the Orange Clan that ruled our street. He's unfortunately not neutered (yet). Splootch also wasn't interested in laps, but he loved pets. However, I think he could become a great lap cat given enough time and trust. As you can see, he's an excellent tree climber, although I think he didn't have the cell when he climbed it because he hesitated on the way down.
Though we had to leave Crete at some point, these cats are not completely forgotten. There's a local organization called Paleochora Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) run by two Germans who moved there that helps the cats (and dogs) of the town by feeding them and sometimes bringing them to the vet for medical care or spay/neuter.

*Paleochora is also sometimes written as Palaiochora. In Greek it's either Παλαιόχωρα or Παλιόχωρα
