PM Modi chairs CEC meeting at BJP headquarters ahead of crucial J&K assembly polls
Ahead of J&K and Haryana assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the Central Election Committee meeting at Party Headquarters in Delhi to discuss candidates. The meeting was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, Party President JP Nadda and senior leaders. The Election Commission has issued a notification for the first phase of assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir. Polling will be held on 24 seats on September 18. The Union Territory will go for election in three phases. The elections to the 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana will be held on October 1. Votes will be counted in J-K and Haryana on October 4.
