The all-day conference Good News from Africa, part of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future Africa 2060 research program, brings together leading experts on Africa to present critical assessments of the continent's current trends in social, cultural, political, and economic development in four discussion panels. The first, on social development, is an analysis of the quality and number of peace studies programs in Africa, as well as discussions about cell phone emergence in Kenya and pesticide exposure in relation to the health of South African female workers.
