The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, two iconic places to visit in New York City, should be on your bucket list. Both accessible by the same ferry, one is where roughly 12 million immigrants arrived from 1892 to 1954, the busiest immigration processing center in the United States and the other, sitting in the middle of New York Harbor and gifted by the people of France, is one of the most recognizable statues in the world and a symbol of freedom throughout the world. Today we're taking a tour to see both, to check out the grounds, pedestal and head up inside of the crown of Lady Liberty herself on Liberty Island as well as checking out the history of immigration on Ellis Island at the museum. If you're thinking about going up to the crown, be sure to book tickets well in advance, sometimes months. All in all, one of the best things to do while in the Big Apple.
