The Defence Headquarters has revealed that troops on internal operations across the country destroyed two hideouts of prominent terrorist commanders and arrested two female collaborators responsible for negotiations with relatives of victims for ransom.
Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba who disclosed this in a statement, added that troops also killed 152 terrorists, arrested 109 others and rescued 91 hostages.
Maj-Gen Buba said troops, during the week carried out operations against two prominent terrorist commanders and decimated their strongholds.
He identified the kingpins’ enclaves to include the one belonging to Sadiku in Tsora Hill in Safana local government area of Katsina State, and that of Alhaji Yusuf at Yadi Forest in Giwa LGA of Kaduna State.
The director stated further that troops crippled crude oil theft activities through air interdictions at Bugama, Idama, Cawtorne Channel and Krakrama, all in Rivers State and prevented oil theft valued at over N795million.
