By analysing 299 usability problems found through testing of modern websites, Børge Kristensen and Marie Soelberg have identified 9 new usability heuristics. These principles closely match the current issues that users are experiencing on the web. Older sets of heuristics are deduced from usability problems found in software from the 1990s.
