GPS Ambulance Tracker using Google Maps
This video shows the demonstration of a "GPS Ambulance tracker" that can be used to track the current live location of the Ambulance using Google Maps.

We have used a Sim900 GSM Modem and a GPS modem in this project. These two modems are interfaced with an 89s51 microcontroller. 8051 microcontroller keeps on reading data from the GPS modem and continuously displays the coordinates on a 16x2 alphanumeric LCD display. Then after a periodic interval, the microcontroller sends an SMS to the registered mobile number. This SMS contains coordinates of the current live location of the Ambulance. Also, this SMS contains a Google map link to track the location. Whenever the user clicks on this link on his/her mobile, it opens the Google Maps app and shows a marker of the current location of the Ambulance.
An additional feature added to this project is a keypad having 4 keys. Users can use these keys to send emergency messages to the registered mobile numbers.
