This Mudbox texturing tutorial covers projection painting - this is one of Mudbox's most powerful features! Using stencils, I show how to quickly and easily texture a character model!
Using photographs as stencils, I literally project the photo detail onto my character model, creating a realistic character texture with very little effort.
I also show techniques that will be necessary to smoothly blend the paint layers together, like using the clone brush, dodge and burn brushes, and adjusting layer colors.
