The American company Wright Electric is working on a project of electric aircraft with aluminum-air batteries.
According to the developers' idea aluminium as anode and carbon as cathode will react with the incoming oxygen to produce energy sufficient for long-distance flights of 186 seats airliner (up to 1000 km).
The cost of such clean energy is much lower than that of fossil fuels.
