Xena as Cleopatra | Naked in Chains and Wrapped in a Carpet
In this episode, Xena is pretending to be Cleopatra. Her mission is to seduce and trick Mark Antony in order to save Egypt. If you're a fan of both Spartacus and Xena: Warrior Princess, this episode is a real treat.
Mark Antony is played by Manu Bennet, who is portraying Crixus in Spartacus. In Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, another Lucy Lawless character, Lucretia, is sexually abusing Crixus in order to get pregnant until she actually falls in love with him, as it is shown in Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
It's really interesting to see that Xena had made the same mistake. In Xena: Warrior Princess, filmed and produced 10 years before Spartacus, Xena also tried using Mark Antony for her own agenda but ended up falling for him. It is just a coincidence or a well-thought play by the creators?
