It’s 2024, and there are still too many custom grunt/gulp/webpack setups out there. They are usually outdated, overcomplicated and thus barely maintainable. This needs to stop. There should be a better way to do this.
Meet Vite:
Vite is a modern frontend tool that combines speed and flexibility with a straightforward configuration. That‘s why it’s one of the most popular bundlers out there and the default choice for Vue, Svelte, Angular, Laravel and many others.
It has built-in support for TypeScript and can be used with all popular frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, Lit, …). It also seamlessly integrates all popular CSS processors (Sass, Less, PostCSS, …).
With this feature set, Vite hits the sweet spot for most TYPO3 projects. I’m going to present my production-ready Vite integration for TYPO3, called Vite AssetCollector.
