Iconic Tower TOUR || Faringdon Folly Tower, English Countryside
'Britain's finest 20th century Folly Tower' and 'One of the most important and iconic follies in Britain'. This 100ft, 154 stairs unique Tower is in Faringdon. It is the last major folly to be built in England.
The views from the top are quite simply breathtaking and stunning. From the top, you look out across the amazing views of the Vale of the White Horse and Oxfordshire Downs.
The Folly Tower, built on Folly hill, by Gerald Tyrwhitt Wilson, 14th Baron Berners(1883-1959) in the 1930s. The architect was Lord Gerald Wellesley, the 7th Duke of Wellington.
There are 4 acre of circular woodland, Scots Pine and broadleaf trees which is said to be over 200 years old.
Faringdon Folly Tower s not open all year as it relies on volunteers help.
