Tredington is a village rich in history, known for its numerous large farmhouses, many of which are timber-framed buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. By 1931, the village had a population of just 92 people. The centerpiece of Tredington is its ancient church, with its oldest parts built around the year 1000.
Over the centuries, the church has seen phases of construction and restoration in the 12th, 14th, 15th, and 17th or 18th centuries, with a major restoration in the 19th century. Many of Tredington’s earlier inhabitants are buried within the church, adding to the village's historical depth.
