U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II fighter aircrafts conduct a short take-off and vertical landing, on full-size simulated land-base LHD (Amphibious Assault Ship) flight deck, during Field Carrier Landing Practice (FCLP) at Air Station Yuma, Arizona and Ie Shima Training Facility, Okinawa, Japan.
F-35B pilots have to practice landings "on land" before they can practice landing on the amphibious assault ship, which is called "Field Carrier Landing Practice (FCLP)”.
