How Remove UXOs from Runway at Rate of 500 Per Hour
The Rapid Explosive Hazard Mitigation (REHM) is carried out by Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel to rapidly remove unexploded ordnances (UXOs) from the runway surface at a rate of 500 per hour in order to pave the way for Rapid Airfield Damage Repair (RADR). In the 2020 exercise, the 26 member EOD team was able to clear 1,200 UXOs from 5,000 feet (1,500 m) of runway within 2 hours and 17 minutes.
