HURRICANE FORMATION WITH THE WACKY WABBIT!
Following on from yesterdays post some cockpit footage from the Hurricane wing to wing!
Another great day in the Warbird Experience office with wonderful aircraft, customers and team! We were delighted to offer Wing - Wing experiences over the week end to those desceaerning customers who wanted to see the Hurricane in its natural environment “in the air” where it belongs! Firstly the customers were treated to a trial lesson in the Magnificent Wacky Wabbit a vintage Harvard in the desert airforce colours of Wartime AJ841 before the wingman arrived in the MK1 Hurricane V7497.
It’s amazing to note that many of the customers have flown as
Passengers in the Spitfire, Buchon and Hurricane etc and now wanted to see from the outside what one would look like up close and personal. Naturally we all jump at the chance to make these dreams come true and as it was my Birthday I called shotgun the front seat of the Hurri!
A fantastic day made even more special by taking off and landing at the former WW2 Battle of Britain airfield “Fowlmere” This airfield has been overshadowed in history by Duxford however it played a significant role during the Battle. Landing a 1940 Hurricane on the hallowed turf of Fowlmere is enough to make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. Truely a privilege and an honor to fly with like minded aviation aficionados! #hurricane #battleofbritain #fowlmere www.T6Harvard.com
