I will just answer a couple of questions here on how to correctly fit the old World War II style RAF (and Luftwaffe) pilots bail out parachute 🪂 This is an original World War II parachute system, which just like on a restoration of any old Aeroplane many parts have to be replaced and original parts can still be used. Thankfully in the UK we don’t have the TSO requirements of the USA and rely on the skills of the riggers that can make and assemble parachute containers. This particular type of parachute isn’t as user-friendly as some of the more modern parachutes, However, this type of parachute system has many safety features modern parachutes don’t have and look incredible in vintage aircraft where they belong!
