The government has welcomed the New Development Bank's recent decision to grant a $1 billion loan aimed at enhancing water and sanitation infrastructure through the municipal infrastructure grant. Officials lauded the loan, asserting that it "will significantly aid in addressing the funding challenges encountered by various programs and state-owned enterprises." Executive manager of WaterCAN Dr Ferrial Adam says there are systems within municipalities that need to be tightened before throwing money at the country's water crisis.
