L.A. Confidential (1997) - 'The Victor' (ending) scene
This film manages to be a 'Chinatown for the 90s' in many ways, and probably enlisting the services of the same composer was a large part of that. The muted triumph of the ending scene is perfectly captured by Jerry Goldsmith, with the music leaving question marks hanging in the air.
