Midnight Express (1978) - 'Chase' scene
Some film music compositions take on a bigger life outside of the movie they were created for. Giorgio Moroder's 'Chase' because a hit single, and is a joy to listen to in full. Unfortunately, film edits meant that only two small parts of it were used in the actual film, with a quiet section in-between. Moroder won an Oscar for his score, beating stiff competition from titans like Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams and Ennio Morricone.
Starring Brad Davis, Randy Quaid, John Hurt, Irene Miracle and Bo Hopkins. Adapted by Oliver Stone, from the book by Billy Hayes. Directed by Alan Parker, with an original score by Giorgio Moroder (but everybody calls him Giorgio).
