So after years of being shelved, getting release dates in theaters and streaming, getting picked apart in editing or interference by the studio, Salem’s Lot is finally here. This movie has a long and complicated history behind it, but now that it’s here, I can kinda see why it took so long. I’m a big fan of Stephen King and Salems Lot is one of my favorite books, but long before this movie was even scheduled to release the first time, I knew this was gonna run into the same problems that the previous adaptations ran into, although this one is even worse in that regard, and that’s the lack of time. While the previous adaptations had been given 3 and 4 hours respectively to tell their stories, there was still quite a bit left out from the book, and with this version being just under 2 hours, I knew we were in for a rough time.
