Abi Palmer Invents the Weather is a series of four short films made by the artist Abi Palmer in collaboration with her two cats Cha-u-Kao and Lola Lola. These films premiere online on subsequent Thursday mornings in March and are followed each evening by a live talk show held between Palmer and special guests.
For the third episode of The Weather, Abi Palmer will be joined by writer Gabrielle de la Puente to discuss rest, isolation, and animal companionship.

Abi Palmer is an artist and writer. Key work includes Sanatorium (Penned in the Margins, 2020) - a fragmented memoir, jumping between luxury thermal pool, and blue inflatable bathtub; and Crip Casino - an interactive gambling arcade parodying the wellness industry and institutionalised spaces. It has been exhibited at Tate Modern, Somerset House, Wellcome Collection and Collective Edinburgh. She has also been commissioned by Wysing Arts Centre, BBC Radio, Vice News, Wellcome, the Guardian and Shape Arts. In 2021 she was a recipient of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s ‘Awards for Artists.’ Sanatorium was shortlisted for the Barbellion Prize.
Gabrielle de la Puente is a writer in Liverpool. She writes about all the culture that gets on her nerves (for better or worse) on The White Pube, a website she co-runs with Zarina Muhammad.
