I bought this one because you can change out the tips to hold different size nails.
It's my first time using pneumatic tools and it rocks. Here's what I loved and what needs improvement.
The palm nailer comes with three tips for different nail types: roofing, common, and finish nails. Handy, but not perfect. The website calls them a standard nose, finish nail nose, large bore nose. I'd call them tips.
First issue: the factory-installed tip is tough to remove. The tool provided wasn't enough. I had to use a crescent wrench and a fence post for leverage to unscrew the nose. Once off, switching tips is easy.
It comes with a so-called "glove" that's thin and has some useless connectors. Not sure what they were thinking with this.
Final downer: It doesn't come with the necessary hose connector. I had to buy an articulated one separately. The downside is it doesn’t fit neatly back into the case, which cracked.
Now for the good stuff. The tips are easy to use once the initial removal hurdle is cleared. The roofing nailer tip, though, lacks a magnet unlike the others.
For common nails, the built-in magnet holds the nail in place, making the job smoother. I used this a lot for 3-inch galvanized nails—perfect for corners and general use.
The finish nail tip is a game-changer. It drives nails below the surface. Super efficient.
Overall, for a versatile, powerful tool that handles various nail types, the Bostitch Palm Nailer is a win.
