Shervin Hajipour, an Iranian musician, was reportedly arrested days after posting a song that has become the soundtrack to the country’s biggest civil uprising in decades.

The song is called Bayere, meaning ‘for …’ or ‘because of …’ in Farsi. Its lyrics are taken entirely from messages that Iranians have posted online about why they are protesting, following the death of Mahsa Amini in police custody.
