Memorable for its rather scantily clad fairies, bearded Norseman Stormlord returns in this 1990 sequel. Puzzles are out and shooting is in, with the end result being a pretty engaging blast 'em up.
I'm personally more familiar with the C64 version, with its excellent Matt Gray music, and although this isn't present here, the Spectrum version has a lot going for it. It's an enjoyable shoot 'em up with plenty of power-ups and cool features to keep things fresh and the fact the Spectrum can handle the number of projectiles, enemy sprites and explosions on-screen without the whole game degenerating into an unplayable crawl is admirable. The art design means colour clash is never a problem, and despite the typically unrealistic colours, it's a great looking title.
The main criticisms I have with this game are the slightly sticky jumping mechanics. I found the main character didn't always respond when trying to execute a jump, leading to some annoying moments where I wandered off ledges into traps inadvertently. I also encountered a weird issue in the final level where the game simply refused to scroll the level, with the fix involving losing some lives.
These problems weren't too detrimental to my enjoyment of the game, however. Deliverance is a cool shooter on the Spectrum, one I'd recommend fans check out for themselves.

Several lives had to be sacrificed on the final stage to overcome some kind of bug which prevented the level from scrolling after the first meteor wave was defeated.
