This video will teach you the very basic concepts behind using MIDI in a home recording studio. In it, I'll give you a very brief overview of MIDI, then record a simple short piano track into Pro Tools using an electronic piano keyboard with MIDI capabilities, and then add a VSTi instrument (actually, an RTAS, which is similar) that turns the MIDI information into audio sounding like a grand piano.

Unfortunately, as of early 2014, YouTube annotations are not visible to mobile viewers, only to users watching on desktop browsers.
