Add an End Screen to a YouTube Video

If you've been around YouTube for any amount of time and watched a video to completion, you've probably seen an end screen.

It's common practice for YouTubers to add end screens to videos in order to increase the number of subscribers or drive traffic to their other content.

It turns out though, that even though I have over 240 published YouTube videos on this channel, I had never used an end screen. This ends (get it?) today. This was an improvement idea in our latest Stateless Code retrospective, and it gave me an idea for a whole new video series titled "How the Sausage is Made" where I make videos about my video making experience.

In this video we add a new end screen to a published video and then import the newly added end screen into a second video.

Here are a couple of strategies for what to include in your end screens:
If you refer to other videos or playlists in your video, add them to the end screen of that video so the viewers can watch that one next
If you have a video that is getting high traffic, you can use that to provide exposure to one of your better, but unappreciated videos.
