This is the quest you get from the Bravil Mages guild leader.
It's a pretty straight forward and easy quest.
Buddy steals the girl's staff because he has a crush on her. you go find him, he already sold it..you go find the guy that bought it and buy it back. Easy Peezy.
I forgot to record myself finding the guy that stole the staff in the first place, he spends most of his time in the "Silverhome on the Water" in Bravil near the gate entrance.
