A good portrait photographer knows that the eyes are crucial to a composition. He or she will either position their subject in a way that allows natural light to illuminate the eyes, or will designate an “eye light,” specifically placed to cast light into the eyes. The result is that intriguing reflection in the eye that adds contrast and makes the eyes “pop” off of the page!
