How do you start a side hustle and crush your daily to do lists, your weekly to do list, how do you get stuff done? How do you get these ideas, these amazing ideas that are in your head dump somewhere so that they can turn into an actionable plan and that you do it as what we're going to go over today.
I've been dialing this in for a couple of years and super excited to share this with you as has changed everything and productivity and getting things done and not having regrets and that's what I want for you as a free trial tool. This is called https://trello.com/en
I want you to start getting stuff done. So I made a couple of examples here. I'm going to go through a bad example. Not really, not about I guess a bad example. So build a tree house. I do not want to put build a treehouse on two day because then this is going to be staying here for a long time, likely two weeks.
How to Get Things Done - Productivity Hacks
If you're a building a tree house on the side for your family and then you're going to get bogged down because you're not going to have this momentum thing happening. Okay? So instead of build a tree house, I want to have this broken up into these steps to build a treehouse. So I have designed a tree house. I have by wood, I have, I think those are the, anyways, what have, we'd have some more steps. But today I can design my tree house and then I can buy the wood. I can do that in an hour or two. The waiting column. So in my design tree house idea, I need to get my wife's opinion on this because I would make it a little bit more risky for the kids and want to make sure that it's wife approved as well. So whenever I designed the tree house, okay then I have a waiting on my wife's opinion.
Planning Ahead is Key - Get Stuff Done Efficiently
This does a couple things. This gets it off of here today. So you realize that you did things, but then also whenever you're waiting on stuff, you know, waiting on an editor to edit your blog or whatever, then you don't forget about it. And you have kind of a short list here of three to five things that you are waiting on and it does not, the ball doesn't get dropped on their table, their plate, and it kind of stays in front of you, but not in your way. And that's what this waiting column is for. So every day you want to empty this thing and then you want to stack up your next day of what you want to do. And whenever we empty this we're going to have a list of things that we did today and you feel good, you feel better.
But this is going to get full pretty quickly as well. So then we have a archived list. So every day or two a week ish, I will empty this done into the archived so that I can kind of start those feel good emotions again. Cause whenever these things get big then it gets overwhelming. Couple of other things want to go through here. So brain dump is not important to kind of my weekly to do list. And then brain dump is just all of these ideas that come in my head. So create sock glove. I have an idea for that. That's kind of a fun thing. So anytime you have an idea, a video idea, a blog idea, a clean the storage room idea.
Okay, they get dumped here on this brain dump. And then whenever I can get to cleaning the storage room, I'll put it into my week plan and then I'll put it on my two day to do thing and then I'll move that over to being done. Another bad example is whenever you are doing something that requires many steps, like build a website, okay, if I put build a website on today, that is not going to happen today. This is going to take quite a few steps. So instead I have right homepage words and it designed a logo. I can do those two things today and on the logo I might get a designer's approval or maybe I'm gonna outsource it. And so that gets moved over to waiting. And then whenever I get the logo back, then I'll put the logo on the website and that part is done. So like I said, the goal here is momentum.
