60 MINUTES PURE AVIATION - Airbus Beluga, A380, Boeing 747 ... (4K)
60 Minutes pure aviation, today with a wild aviation mix, including some rare airplanes like the Airbus Beluga XL. The Beluga is an aircraft which was designed to transport Airbus parts to the airbus factories in Hamburg Finkenwerder and Toulouse. Previously Airbus operated five Belugas which were based on the Airbus A300 but they replaced the aging A300` s with more modern Beluga XL aircrafts which are based on the Airbus A330. The footage was filmed at Hamburg Finkenwerder which is the second - biggest airbus production plant in the world, just behind Toulouse. At Finkenwerder they mainly produce narrowbody aircrafts like the A320Neo and A321 Neo.
The classic A300 Beluga`s won` t be retired. After they won` t be used to transport aircraft parts anymore the Belugas will start operating cargo charters around the world. Although the fuel consumption is quite high the aicrafts are quite interesting for cargo operators because they are able to transport goods which don` t fit in regular cargo aircrafts like the B747.
