Revealing the Kick Elbow Bunkai in Seipai Kata
The first application (bunkai oyo) I learned for this (kick drop back elbow) movement from Seipai kata was as follows: I do a front kick, my partner blocks gedan barai to spin me, partner then catches me in a rear over the arms bear hug, I use the arm movement of pulling left arm across body while right elbow strikes backwards to escape. Of course the context, particularly with the preceding and following movements, makes little sense.
