Needful Things (1993) - 'The Arrival' (Main Titles) scene
The novel on which this film is based starts off with a quaint portrayal of small-town life, and only as the chaos slowly rises does the reader start to realise that the new shopkeeper in town is not who he seems to be. The filmmakers decided, for better or worse, to do away with this slow tease. This piece by Doyle is clearly music to announce the arrival in town of someone devilish.
Starring Max von Sydow, Ed Harris, Bonnie Bedelia, Amanda Plummer, J.T. Walsh, William Morgan Sheppard and Don S. Davis. Based on the novel by Stephen King, and directed by Fraser C. Heston (son of Charlton). Original score by Patrick Doyle.
