1. Prepare
DC1 : Domain Controller(Yi.vn - running OS Windows Server 2016 Datacenter) | A DVD Windows Server 2022 install insert to D:
2. Step by step : Direct OS upgrade DC1 to Windows Server 2022
DC1 : Direct OS upgrade to Windows Server 2022
Click 'File Explorer' - Right-Click 'This PC' - Properties # Check OS version
Start - cmd, type : netdom query fsmo # Check roles
Server Manager - Tools - Active Directory Users and Computers - Right-Click Yi.vn - Raise domain functional level... # Check current domain functional level
Start - cmd - Right-Click cmd - Run as administrator, type D: - cd support - cd adprep
adprep /forestprep # Prepare for forest upgrade
Type 'C' # To confirm
adprep /domainprep # Prepare for domain upgrade
adprep /domainprep /gpprep # Prepare for domain policy upgrade
Go to D: - Double-Click setup.exe - Choose 'Not right now' - Choose 'Windows Server 2022 Datacenter (Desktop Experience)'(or you want)
Accept - Choose 'Keep files, settings, and apps' - Install - Restart - ... - Finish
Click 'File Explorer' - Right-Click 'This PC' - Properties # Check OS version
Start - cmd, type : netdom query fsmo # Check roles
Server Manager - Tools - Active Directory Users and Computers - Right-Click Yi.vn - Raise domain functional level... # Check current domain functional level
