Veteran director Jerzy Skolimowski returns in triumphant form with this tale of animal life. Sometimes harsh, sometimes sweet, always beautiful, EO tells the story of a donkey and its journey through a world dominated by humans. Emotive, lyrical, and cathartic, the film takes its protagonist from a circus to a petting zoo to a soccer game and other situations as well; throughout, the director’s goal is to use the animal’s treatment as a commentary on humanity.
