What is the key to getting more subscribers? How many subscribers is normal for a small channel? What kind of subscriber growth can a person normally expect? What can a creator do to grow his or her channel faster? IS THIS NORMAL!?
I get it. I've been there. This is hard, and when you've been doing it long enough to have collected some significant data but not yet long enough to be stable, one starts to wonder, "how does my channel compare to others?"
I looked at stats from fifteen, “randomly”-selected, small channels to try to figure out what the best of them were doing well and if there were any common traits correlating to subscriber growth. Specifically, I wanted to know how many subscribers is normal for a small channel? How is the pace of my channel's growth? It took me about six months to get to 1000 subscribers and I wanted to know how long does it usually take to get 1000 subscribers on youtube?
In this video, I describe my observations. When success is measured by subscriber growth, there is only one characteristic that the most successful YouTube channels have in common. There are also a few channel statistics that turn out to be less important than you might think.
